Home Internet mobile app

I was part of the T-Mobile Home Internet team for a few years and worked on the T-Life mobile app, in particular the Home Internet product user flows, including first time set up. We implemented an augmented reality (AR) feature to find the perfect location to place the router gateway called the Gateway Placement Assistant, allowing customers to visually see the strongest WiFi signal in their homes based on the nearest cell service tower. The Gateway Placement Assistant reduced set up times by 20% and eliminated the need to call for a service tech to assist with the setup.

Hardware UI design

While at T-Mobile the Home Internet router/gateway was updated three times. The first update required the need for a revised set of LCD screens on the front of the hardware, a big upgrade in screen size and placement. I worked on the user flows for these improvements, and it was a challenge to create an intuitive multi-screen experience with the limitation of a non-touchscreen. The controls we were required to use were Forward, Back, and OK buttons as part of the hardware interface.
